{"id":639,"date":"2014-06-01T09:00:41","date_gmt":"2014-06-01T01:00:41","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.keyglobal.co\/2014\/06\/01\/cayman-islands-news-new-policy-on-issuing-e-certificates-by-the-cayman-islands-registrar-of-companies\/"},"modified":"2014-06-01T09:00:41","modified_gmt":"2014-06-01T01:00:41","slug":"cayman-islands-news-new-policy-on-issuing-e-certificates-by-the-cayman-islands-registrar-of-companies","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.keyglobal.co\/zh-hans\/2014\/06\/01\/cayman-islands-news-new-policy-on-issuing-e-certificates-by-the-cayman-islands-registrar-of-companies\/","title":{"rendered":"Cayman Islands News \u2013 New Policy on issuing e-Certificates by the Cayman Islands Registrar of Companies"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"wpb-content-wrapper\">[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text disable_pattern=&#8221;false&#8221;]As from 2<sup>nd<\/sup>\u00a0June 2014,\u00a0the Cayman Islands General Registry began delivering electronic copies for certificates ordered on the Cayman Online Registry Information Service (\u201cCORIS\u201d) system.\u00a0 Now that the online services for issuing e-certificates has been activated for all Cayman companies, the Registry will\u00a0<u>no longer issue paper certificates<\/u>\u00a0as the certificates are available online.<\/p>\n<p>The Registry is happy to be able to offer this enhanced service, as they have found this to be a more convenient and most efficient to conduct business with them.<\/p>\n<p>To note further, effective\u00a01<sup>st<\/sup> January 2015,\u00a0Certificates of Good Standing will <strong><u>not<\/u><\/strong> be issued by the Cayman Islands Registrar of Companies unless all relevant fees and penalties due at the date of request have been paid and annual returns filed. The following is an excerpt of the Companies Law (2013 Revision).<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Certificate of good standing <\/em><\/strong><em>S.200A.<\/em><\/p>\n<ol>\n<ol>\n<li><em>The Registrar may on application made by a company issue a certificate of good standing to\u00a0a company that is in good standing in accordance with subsection (2).<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>A certificate of good standing is evidence of the fact that the company is in good standing on the date that the certificate of good standing is issued.<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>A company shall be deemed to be in good standing if all fees and penalties under this Law have been paid\u00a0and the Registrar has no knowledge that the company is in default under this Law.<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/ol>\n<p>For further information on changes to the regime and how they might affect you and your clients, please feel free to contact your KEY account managers.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row]\n<\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>As from 2nd June 2014, the Cayman Islands General Registry began delivering electronic copies for certificates ordered on the Cayman Online Registry Information Service (\u201cCORIS\u201d) system.
